AES Heraklion visits AES Warsaw

On Wednesday 19th February 2025, 26 pupils attending the S4 Greek and S4 English of AES Heraklion paid a visit to AES Warsaw premises. We spoke with Sevi Giakoumaki, German language teacher, Karina Lopez, Spanish language teacher and Maria Zarafoniti, Greek language teacher, of AES Heraklion, who accopmanied the students during this trip to Poland and commented the following:

“During our visit the Director and teaching staff of AES Warsaw welcomed us very warmly. Moreover, we were extremely honoured by the fact that the Greek Consul in Warsaw was present to greet us.

Our students participated in an event dedicated to the Greek language day and demonstrated some board games (3 manual and 1 electronic) that they have prepared to play with their peers from AES Warsaw, who were very keen and interested by those innovative games. We even had the chance to dance a traditional greek dance from Crete island (where AES Herkalion is situated) called “Siganos”.

After that we had the chance to walk around the school’s premises, interact with teachers and pupils and get our lunch, all together, in the cantine.

All of us, pupils and teachers, we feel blessed for having the opportunity to visit, in person, an Accredited European School outside Greece.”
